2018 Hurricane Policy & Preparedness Plan
Dear Loyal Morgan City Rentals Customers,
Morgan City Rentals has implemented the following equipment policy during the 2018 Hurricane Season. Our first responsibility is the safety of our employees and their families and we apologize for any inconvenience this policy may cause. The customer will be responsible for the security of the equipment during the storm, should the equipment not be returned within the Morgan City Rentals Hurricane Preparedness Plan time frame. The customer will be responsible for any damages and losses to the equipment due to the passage of a tropical storm / hurricane.
When a tropical storm / hurricane forms in or enters the Gulf of Mexico, Morgan City Rentals Hurricane Preparedness Plan will go into effect.
Alert Status ONE – a named storm forming or entering the Gulf of Mexico will trigger initial Morgan City Rentals hurricane preparedness operations. Suspension of “First Refusals” on all equipment will be in effect. Any equipment that is available, if requested, will be put on rent at this time. No rentals will be bound without providing MCR with a PO or AFE number and contact persons responsible for delivery of rented equipment stored at our facilities. Morgan City Rentals will assist all of our customers in expediting the return of our rental equipment utilizing Morgan City Rentals’ trucks or assist in contracting third party transportation to our Morgan City, Golden Meadow, or Broussard, LA facilities if the customer chooses to do so.
Alert Status TWO – a Tropical Storm Watch (sustained winds from 39 to 73 mph are possible within 36 hours) is issued by the National Hurricane Center for an area containing any of our facilities located in Morgan City, Golden Meadow or Broussard, LA. Morgan City Rentals personnel will begin to secure facilities. Morgan City Rentals will continue to assist customers with equipment rental return and continue to accept equipment at our facilities.
Alert Status THREE – a Hurricane Watch (sustained winds of 73 mph or greater are possible within 36 hours) is issued by the National Hurricane Center for an area containing any of our facilities located in Morgan City, Golden Meadow or Broussard, LA. Morgan City Rentals will cease to retrieve or receive equipment from the docks or customers and the rigging division will no longer be able to receive or ship orders. Morgan City Rentals personnel will begin evacuations. Additionally, any equipment not returned to Morgan City Rentals’ facilities prior to setting Alert Status THREE will be considered on rent and the customer will be responsible to ensure the safekeeping of the equipment.
Post Hurricane – Morgan City Rentals will conduct an initial damage assessment at all facilities to ensure the facilities can safely resume operations. Any equipment not returned to Morgan City Rentals prior to the passage of a tropical storm or hurricane that has been lost or damaged, the customer will be responsible to report the loss or damage of the equipment to Morgan City Rentals at the conclusion of the customer’s damage assessment. Any equipment available immediately after the passage of the storm will be for rent only. First refusals on equipment will not be honored until all storm assessments are finalized. HOUSTON – (April 2, 2018) — Bishop Lifting has acquired Safeway Sling USA, a sling fabrication company headquartered in Greendale, Wisconsin. Safeway Sling USA is a manufacturer of 100% USA made nylon and polyester lifting slings as well as wire rope slings, chain slings, and tie-down assemblies that meet all WSTDA standards.
Safeway Sling USA, Inc. has a proven record of excellence in designing and fabricating 100% USA made lifting slings for 40 years and has gained recognition as the “Gold Standard” for overhead lifting slings.
Harold King, President of Bishop Lifting Products, stated that “we are excited with the addition of Safeway Sling to our family of companies. Safeway Sling has a proven track record in our industry of supplying the highest quality synthetic slings with the highest level of service. They will make a great addition to our team.”

Along with manufacturing synthetic and metal lifting slings, Safeway provides certifying/recertifying services of overhead lifting assemblies with in-house ASTM E-4 calibrated testing capabilities. Singer Equities, Inc. has acquired Foster Hose and Fittings headquartered in St. Louis, MO. The business was founded in 1928 and has been owned by Todd Sacco, Dale Schwartz and Rick Freeman since 2007. Todd Sacco, who has been active in the business, will remain as Sales and Marketing Manager and the business will continue operating under the Foster Hose and Fittings name.
Foster Hose and Fittings is a distributor and fabricator of industrial hose, metal hose, silicone hose, hydraulic hose, fittings and expansion joints. Foster serves a diverse customer base in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical and industrial manufacturing markets, primarily in the Midwest region.
“Todd Sacco and his team have built a profitable business through servicing a high-end customer base with exceptional customer service and quality products and services”, stated Sam Petillo, President of Singer Equities. February 1, 2018—Houston, Texas–SBP Holdings, with its Singer Equities and Bishop Lifting Products business units, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pete Haberbosch as company President replacing Don Fritzinger, who will remain as CEO of the organization. Haberbosch joined the Singer Equities business vertical in 2014 as a Vice President of their Hampton Rubber and later Summers Rubber platform businesses before being named a Vice President of Business Development for SBP Holdings. In this new role Haberbosch will continue in the strategic acquisition pipeline development and marketing efforts supporting the organic and acquisition growth of both business verticals. Prior to joining Singer, Haberbosch held a number of management roles for the Gates Corporation and Fenner.

February 1, 2018 — Singer Equities, Inc. has acquired Smith Industrial Rubber & Plastics Inc. headquartered in Rockford, Illinois. Smith Industrial is a distributor and fabricator of hydraulic hose and fittings, conveyor belting, industrial hose, sheet rubber and die cut parts from plastic and rubber. The business was founded in the 1940s as a division of Smith Oil Corp. who was a dominant distributor of petroleum, rubber products and select automotive parts through most of the 20th century in the Rock River valley. Current owners Scott Greenfield and Tom Rudnicki were originally salesmen for Smith Industrial Rubber. Tom Rudnicki will remain as General Manager and will continue operating under the Smith Industrial Rubber and Plastics name.
“Scott Greenfield, Tom Rudnicki and their team have built a reputable rubber distribution business over the past 30 years and have earned that through their value-add product offerings and dedication to customer service”, stated Sam Petillo, President of Singer Equities.
